Konkona Sen Sharma’s journey in the film industry in ‘non-masala’ cinema has been “convoluted”, says the actress.

Attending a special initiative “Career Konnect: Power to Women” aimed at encouraging working mothers, Sharma said: “My journey has been a convoluted one till now. I didn’t know what I wanted to do when I was in college.

“And acting was something I happened to stray into and subsequently made it my world though it was already my world because of my parents [mother and leading actress Aparna Sen].”

The event was conducted to spread the message among women to continue working after marriage and children and to also urge them to pursue their passions in the profession of their choice.

Sharma was recently in the news for her Bengali film, Shajarur Kanta, which is based on a Byomkesh Bakshi novel. Her last Hindi film Ek Thi Daayan came out two years ago and she will be next seen as a police officer in Sonakshi Sinha’s Akira.
