Jawani Phir Nahi Ani (2015), Pakistan’s biggest all-time grosser at the domestic box office, is going to have a sequel. While this may be old news for many, the official word from the house of ARY Network and Six Sigma is that the second instalment of the fun caper shall be shot in Turkey and a host of other foreign locations.

Co-producers Jerjees Seja and Humayun Saeed, who is also the film’s main lead, were recently in Bodrum, for reconnaissance, along with director Nadeem Baig, and DoP Suleman Razzak. The happy bunch that are still reeling from the stupendous success of their last film together, Punjab Nahi Jaungi, famously took to Instagram to post images of them hanging out at choicest places in the beautiful Turkish city.

According to Seja, the Instagram posts should “not give much away about the locations we’re going to be using, as we plan to shoot in a couple of other countries, too.” (It may be mentioned here that JPNA had been shot largely in Thailand.)

Talking to Gulf News tabloid!, the producer said that JPNA2 was being mounted on a lavish budget, compared to its predecessor. He also promised that it would prove to be “the biggest film franchise to come out of Pakistan.”

Seja revealed that the casting for the film was still in process. While most of the cast from the first part has been retained — including Saeed, Ahmad Ali Butt, Sarwat Gillani, Uzma Khan, and scriptwriter cum actor Vasay Chaudhry — there have been a few additions, also. For instance, Fahad Mustafa replaces Hamza Ali Abbasi; Ayesha Khan is out, and Syra Shehroze is in.
