The promotional campaign of actor-director Shaan Shahid’s next, Arth — The Destination, kicked off finally, with the film’s leading ladies Humaima Malik and Uzma Hasan making formal visits to Lahore’s top educational institutions. The two began with Kinnaird College for Women, where they attended the Business Week, and also interacted with the students. When Malik told the crowd that it was her birthday, the girls cheered for her. Later, at Lahore University of Management Sciences, Malik and Hasan had a more personal discussion on the film’s central theme, before they took questions from the students audience.
Earlier last week, the makers released the first video of the film’s song, Sanwaar Day Khudaya, a melodious track rendered by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. It features the entire cast of the film — Shahid, Malik, Hasan, and Mohib Mirza. The film is an official remake of the Bollywood classic, Arth (1982), which was directed by Mahesh Bhatt and starred such luminaries as Shabana Azmi, (the late) Smita Patel, Raj Kiran, and Kulbhushan Kharbanda.
Arth — The Destination is expected to release in Pakistan on December 21.
