Has Shaan Shahid finally made peace with Shoaib Mansoor? It has been over a decade since they fell out during the shoot of their only film together, Khuda Key Liye (2007).

If insiders are to be believed, the actor-director duo has decided to put their grouses behind them. Even though this is early news yet, we can’t but ‘smell’ a business collaboration between the two Pakistan film industry giants; in this case it’s a film.

Although Shahid has been vocal about Mansoor’s (alleged) stinginess — among the many reasons why Verna is a commercial and critical failure — he has always expressed faith in the superstar’s acting talent. In fact, after he returned from Khuda Key Liye’s grand premiere in Mumbai, India, in 2008, Mansoor told this journalist how he would have definitely attempted a sequel to the blockbuster movie, were it not for Shahid’s (alleged) unprofessional behaviour.

Today all is quite well between the two. In fact, a little birdie is twittering about Shahid developing a script for his next home production (after the forthcoming Arth - The Destination and Zarrar), for which he is considering signing on actress Mahira Khan.

It is rumoured that Shahid won’t be directing it. Does that mean he is going to approach Mansoor to direct him, as well as his favourite heroine? Whether or not Mansoor is part of it, it is obvious that if the project materialises, it shall be a casting coup of sorts — everyone in the media industry is keen to see Shahid and Khan come together and create magic on screen.
