Vicky Kaushal has started filming in Mumbai for director Meghna Gulzar’s Raazi, which will also feature Alia Bhatt.
Kaushal, who plays an army officer in the movie, joined the team after shooting for the Sanjay Dutt biopic on Friday, a statement said.
Based on the book Calling Sehmat, Raazi is centres on a Kashmiri girl who is married to an army officer. It is set during the 1971 Indo-Pak war. Bhatt and Kaushal have undertaken a few workshops together to train for their roles and to get the diction and dialect right.
“I’m extremely excited for this journey. It’s a great team coming together on an amazing story. Fingers crossed,” Kaushal said.
Raazi will also be shot in Punjab and Kashmir.
