Actress Sunny Leone says Priyanka Chopra’s online trolling over her dress during her meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Germany, was unfair.

Chopra recently met Modi in Berlin and shared a picture on her social media account. The actress, however, faced criticism from some people who objected to her short dress and slammed her for not being ‘appropriately dressed’ for the meeting.

Leone says if Modi had a problem with it, he would’ve expressed himself.

“We have elected a very smart man to be the prime minister of this country. If he had a problem with it he would’ve said something. But he didn’t and I don’t think anybody has the right to troll,” she told reporters.

The Jism 2 actress said Chopra is a smart woman who does a lot for the society.

“There’s enough hate, we should love each other more and not be mean. I know she [Chopra] gives back to the society, she is good to people. Let’s judge her based on her actions and not her clothes.”

Leone was speaking at an event of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (Peta) last evening. After the criticism, Chopra took potshots at trolls with a cheeky photo on her Instagram page.

In the photo, the 34-year-old actress was seen flaunting her legs in a high-slit denim dress, along with her mother, Madhu, who was seen in a black top and mini skirt.

Madhu lashed out, too, when asked about her daughter’s outfit. She said the focus of reports should be on their discussions not their outfits.

Asked about it at the Dadasaheb Phalke Academy Awards on Thursday night, Madhu said: “Why are you asking such stupid questions at such a good event? Ask me what she discussed with PM on that day. Priyanka Chopra had discussion with PM Narendra Modi about current issues.”

Madhu was happy to receive the International Icon Award on behalf of Chopra at the awards event.

The proud mother added: “She gave a fitting reply to her social media trollers [by uploading another picture on Instagram] and I don’t want to degrade the value of her reaction by commenting on it.”

“She didn’t have any intension to be matter of subject of such unnecessary things. Today’s youth is so confident that they shouldn’t get affected by any kind of provocation.”

Talking about receiving award, Madhu said: “I am very happy and proud that Priyanka has been given this award. They have introduced new category of International Icon awards and she is the first recipient of it.”
