Director Subhash Ghai has given the negatives of 24 of his films to National Film Archives of India (NFAI).

Ghai says he feels “blessed” on handing over the negatives to NFAI, whose mission is to safeguard the heritage of Indian cinema for posterity and act as a centre for dissemination of a healthy film culture in the country.

“Felt blessed entrusting negatives of my 24 movies to National Film Archive of India to preserve for 100 years to come,” Ghai tweeted on Monday morning.

The filmmaker also shared a photograph, in which he can be seen sitting in an office and is signing legal documents.

Ghai, who has directed films such as Karz, Ram Lakhan, Khalnayak and Pardes, however, did not share the names of the films that were given over for preservation.

The filmmaker’s recent crop of films such as Yuvvraaj and Kaanchi: The Unbreakable have been critical and box office duds.
