Actress Shilpa Shetty on Monday said she is consulting her legal team over allegations that a Kolkata-based firm was duped into investing Rs90 million (Dh5.3 million) in her company.
“Crazy news! I dare this Manoj Jain 2submit proofs 2 his ridiculous claims. His 2minute Fame can’t b @ the cost of my hard earned reputation (sic),” Shetty posted on Twitter.
“Seeking legal advice...He’s a defaulter & clearly a fraud going by his reputation. So annoying,” she added.
The case against the actress and Ripu Sudan Kundra of Essential Sports and Media Private Limited was filed by M.K. Media Private Limited.
The actress has acted in hits such as Main Khiladi Tu Anari and Dhadkan.
Shetty, who is married to businessman Raj Kundra, is also an entrepreneur with a spa and wellness chain IOSIS, and co-ownership of the IPL team of Rajasthan Royals. She even has a jewellery business and is a successful fitness expert.
