Bengali film Dark Chocolate, which presents a fictional take on the Sheena Bora murder mystery, will premiere at the Festival of Globe (FOG) in Silicon Valley on August 13, a statement said on Friday.

FOG is one of the biggest festivals for the Indian diaspora in the US.

Directed by filmmaker Agnidev Chatterjee, the movie stars Bollywood actress Mahima Chaudhury and actress Riya Sen in key roles. Actors Rajesh Sharma, Mumtaz Sorcar, Indrashis Roy, Kaushik Sen and Sudip Mukherjee are also part of the cast.

Chaudhury, who will be the guest of honour at the premiere, said: “I am quite excited about the entire thing.”

Chaudhry plays Ishani Banerjee, a character based on Indrani Mukherjea, who is accused of murder, while actress Riya Sen will play Rina Bardhan, a role inspired by the short life of Bora. Media baron Peter Mukherjea will be played by Sudip Mukherjee.

The Bora murder case gripped the nation following Mukherjea’s high-profile arrest in 2015 for the murder of their daughter.
