A five-day exhibition about Feluda, a fictional Bengali detective created by author-director Satyajit Ray, will be held in Kolkata to mark his birthday on May 2.
The exhibition will be organised by the Satyajit Ray Society, of which Sandip Ray, the director’s son, is the member secretary.
“We still vividly recall the day he passed away and I feel both baba and maa [Bijoya Roy] are still guiding us,” Sandip, who followed in his father’s footsteps directing Double Feluda, said on Sunday on the 25th death anniversary of Ray.
The show will contain manuscripts based on different fictions featuring Feluda. Scripts of two Feluda films made by Ray such as Sonar Kella and Joy Baba Felunath will also be presented on May 2, he said.
“Some family, friends and others visited our Bishop Lefroy Road residence today where my father-in-law’s garlanded photo is kept. But it is hard to believe he is no more. We all feel both baba and maa are with us,” Sandip’s wife Lolita Ray said.
Ray, the Academy Honorary Award winner and Bharat Ratna recipient died in 1992 at the age of 71, a year after making Agantuk (1991).
