The director of upcoming Bollywood film Jazbaa Sanjay Gupta wants his lead actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to sing in the film.
“Till now there are no plans but there is an intention for it,” he said at the film’s trailer launch on Tuesday.
“Let’s talk about future things in future,” added Rai Bachchan.
From Priyanka Chopra to Alia Bhatt, a bevy of actresses have taken to singing in their movies. The 41-year-old former Miss World, however, does not think the trend is particularly new.
“I think it [has been] going on since quite sometime. It is not a new thing. Paa [her father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan] has been singing forever. Today, actors have started singing probably because they want to do natural things. Something that comes to them. We all love our cinema music. There is no time-frame for it,” she said.
Jazbaa, which also stars Irrfan Khan, Shabana Azmi, Jackie Shroff and Atul Kulkarni, hits screens in the UAE on October 8.
