Salman Khan’s fans may be waiting a long time to see him tie the knot but the actor is in no mood to get married anytime soon — although he strongly believes in love.

The Bollywood superstar always comes up with a playful answer every time the question is asked.

He recently said that he was open to the idea of an arranged marriage but when asked on Friday night about what qualities he looks for in a partner, he quipped, “Marriage is cancelled now. love is back.”

The 49-year-old actor’s love life has always made headlines right from his alleged affair with Somi Ali to Sangeeta Bijlani to Aishwarya Rai to Katrina Kaif.

Khan was speaking at the launch of the song Aaj ki party from his upcoming film Bajrangi Bhaijaan.

Directed by Kabir Khan, the film, Khan’s home production, also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

Another of his upcoming home productions Hero is releasing on September 4. The Katrina-starrer Phantom will hit cinemas the same day.

Asked about the box office clash, Salman said “That [Katrina’s film] is also our film.”

Hero is an action film directed by Nikhil Advani. It is a remake of the Subhash Ghai-helmed 1983 film of the same name, which starred Jackie Shroff and Meenakshi Sheshadri.

The remake features star kids Sooraj Pancholi (son of Aditya Pancholi) and Athiya Shetty (daughter of Suniel Shetty). On Thursday, evening Salman shared the first look of Hero on Twitter.

Asked why his co-star Kareena Kapoor Khan was missing from the Bajrangi Bhaijaan promotion Khan joked that she was already celebrating the success of the film in London.

“She is enjoying and partying there with her husband, father and others. In her mind she is already enjoying the success of the film. She has anticipated that the film will be a huge success crossing the Rs1 billion [Dh0.05 billion] bracket,” he said.

“I am sure Kareena remembered only me while shooting. But I was thinking of Saif,” Salman said in a lighter vein.

Khan and Kapoor’s last outing Bodyguard in 2011 was a huge hit.
