Bollywood star Salman Khan on Saturday arrived in Kashmir Valley to shoot for his upcoming film Bajrangi Bhaijaan, which also stars Kareena Kapoor.

The actor arrived in Srinagar for the last leg of the shoot in the Valley, which was delayed due to the recent incessant rains there, sources in the film unit said.

Directed by Kabir Khan, the film’s shooting will take place at many picturesque locations across the Valley including at the famous resorts of Pahalgam and Gulmarg, they said.

The director wants to shoot a few action scenes, a war sequence and a song in the Valley and they reportedly plan to stay for a month.

They said Khan also wants to use the time to see the Valley and get to know its people.

Kabir had done a recce in the Valley before the floods in September last year and then another one earlier this year.

“Kabir wanted to start shooting in the first week of April, but the shooting got delayed due to the rains in the Valley,” the sources said.

The actor was given a traditional welcome at the Srinagar International Airport by the officials of Tourism Department and an event management company The Wings.

Huge crowds had gathered at the airport and outside it to catch a glimpse of the actor.

Besides Khan and Kapoor, the film stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

Elaborate security arrangements have been made for Khan’s stay.
