Filmmaker Rakesh Roshan has announced the fourth instalment of the popular science-fiction superhero franchise Krrish, which will see his son, actor Hrithik Roshan, reprise his role as the masked hero.
“When my wife showed me a tweet with Bappa’s picture as Krrish, it reaffirmed my belief that ‘Krrish’ is the original superhero we have. It boosted my confidence and inspired me to make the fourth instalment,” Roshan said in a statement.
He was referring to a picture posted on social media by Hrithik on Tuesday of the Hindu deity Ganesha dressed as Krrish.
He captioned the image: “Ganpati blessings for Krrish 4 ... Hope everyone is enjoying the festivities. Love to all.”
Shooting for the film is to begin next year, and it is slated for a Christmas 2018 release.
Meanwhile, Kaabil, which stars Hrithik and Yami Gautam and is directed by Sanjay Gupta, is out on January 26, 2017.
