Actor Puneet Vashist, the second wild card entry of Bigg Boss 9, hopes the reality TV show will be his ticket to a successful career in Bollywood.
“My career in Bollywood will be changed — full on. After I come out of Bigg Boss victoriously Salman [Khan] bhai [brother] will be in my house asking me, ‘what to do next bro?’, Shah Rukh [Khan] and Akshay Kumar will bid for me [saying] that they want — Puneet Vashist,” he said.
Vashist, best remembered for acting in Shah Rukh Khan’s Josh, will be entering the ‘double trouble’ ninth season — hosted by Dabangg star Salman Khan — on Wednesday. The episode will go on air on Thursday on Colors channel.
Actor Rishabh Sinha was the first wild card entry.
Vashist, who has worked in both TV and movies, said he is confident about his acting skills, and hopes to win the season of the reality show, which has earned a notorious reputation for its controversies.
He said: “It’s going to be flood of votes on my entry, not because I have had the advantage of telling people to vote for me, but because I have just done collective work as an actor. People love me ... it is just the industry, politics that I have not got work I deserved till now.
“I should not crib [complain] about it and god is great that I got this platform and I am going to come out victorious”.
Contestants who are still left in the house this season include Mandana Karimi, Prince Narula, Suyyash Rai, Kishwar Merchant, Keith Sequira, Rochelle Rao, Aman Verma, Yuvika Chaudhary, Digangana Suryavanshi and Rimi Sen.
And Vashist, who featured in TV serials like Shastri Sisters and Kya Huaa Tera Vaada, has a message for all the inmates — “All the chickens are now going to face the tiger”.
“They all will maintain distance from me,” he said.
His strategy is to show the real side of Vashist to the world.
“Just be myself is my strategy. I am full of dance. I am a musician, performer, entertainer, and all this has been showed to the world in bits and pieces in different characters, but now people will get to see Puneet for the first time,” he said.
An Indian version of the international series Celebrity Big Brother, the show is also famous for testing contestants emotionally, physically and emotionally. But Vashist is not bothered.
The actor, who is signed up to work on a movie called Life Biryani is looking forward to being “physically and mentally challenged”.
