The first poster for Mammootty’s much-awaited action film Kasaba inspired social media to get creative.
In the poster, the Malayalam superstar is seen dressed as a police officer, sitting on the bumper of a police jeep with a thick moustache and sunglasses.
Altered versions of the poster soon began showing up online — from the background being replaced with the Iron Throne from Game of Thrones, to Mammootty shown relaxing on elephant’s tusks.
The film marks Mammootty’s return to the silver screen after a long gap.
Instead of getting annoyed about being turned into a meme, Mammootty found it funny and posted a number of pictures on his official Facebook page.
“Here are few trolls for the Kasaba first look poster... I was blown away. I guess this is the modern face of satire. Memes and Trolls are the new whips of the digital generation. I will upload more of them as I come across,” Mammootty wrote.
Kasaba is directed by Nithin Renji Panicker. It is likely to release in June.
