Comedian-actor Kapil Sharma on Tuesday denied prevalence of any “intolerance” in the country.

“See, it’s just a word. Had you heard about this word earlier? I think it has been made famous by these social media trolls and the news that follows it,” Kapil told IANS here.

He also asked people to make fun of intolerance.

“I am telling you, make fun of this word [intolerance],” Kapil said.

“People should not take everything so seriously. There needs to be a scope for humour — healthy humour,” he added.

Asked what he defined healthy humour as, the Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon actor said: “A kind of humour that doesn’t compel your parents to flip channels while looking at it with you.”

The comedian returns to the small screen with The Kapil Sharma Show. Actor Shah Rukh Khan is his first guest.

The episode will be aired on Sony Entertainment Television on April 23 in India.

It will also feature actors Sunil Grover, Ali Asgar, Kiku Sharda, Sumona Chakravarti and Chandan Prabhakar.
