Known for being a strong supporter of women’s issues, actress Kalki Koechlin has asked why women are always questioned even when they try to do something good.
Reacting to how Deepika Padukone’s My Choice video about women’s empowerment drew mixed reactions, she said: “I’m happy Deepika made this video. We don’t think much when it’s about men, but we question women. The initiative is very good.
“When it comes to women’s empowerment, it’s about equality. Women and men are not paid the same amount for the same job, that’s the biggest problem. Even in the West, women should get paid as that of men.”
The actress has impressed critics and audiences with Margarita With A Straw, which is about a woman with cerebral palsy.
