Composer Himesh Reshammiya has praised Romanian actress Iulia Vantur for her singing skills.
Vantur lent her voice to the song Every Night and Day from Reshammiya’s latest album, Aap Se Mausiiquii. The song is in Hindi, except for the hook.
“She has an angelic voice. Her voice suits a mainstream Bollywood heroine. I approached her for the song, she loved the idea and came on board. It was in flat two hours that she recorded the song,” Reshammiya said at the launch event of the album in Mumbai.
The Tera Suroor singer also pointed out similarities between Vantur and her rumoured boyfriend, actor Salman Khan.
“Salman understands music. He is a big star. He sings from the heart and so does [Vantur], so this is the similarity between them... Both are perfectionist as well,” Reshammiya said.
Vantur, who was present at the event, surprised the crowd by singing the Romanian folk song La Betleem Colo-n Jos, which inspired Teri Meri from Khan’s Bodyguard.
She said that she used to sing the Christmas carol to her parents.
“I love India. I always wanted to come here since I was a kid because I used to read so many stories about the country and I was very fascinated with the place. The first feeling I had when I stepped on this land was like home,” she said.
