Irrfan Khan, known for his work in Bollywood and in Hollywood, was on Tuesday honoured with the Entertainer of the Year award.

The 49-year-old actor, credited with films such as Paan Singh Tomar, The Lunchbox, Life of Pi, Piku and Talvar, was presented the honour by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.

“I am honoured to be felicitated. For me, the last two years have been a tremendous journey (of) breaking and redefining entertainment. I am touched that a gamut of roles of different genres has been appreciated and loved by the audience equally,” said Khan.

He was last seen on the big screen in director Nishikant Kamat’s social-thriller Madaari. He is now looking forward to the release of his American mystery thriller Inferno, which also features Hollywood star Tom Hanks.

The movie will hit Indian theatres on October 14, two weeks before its US release.
