Dubai: Veteran Indian acress Shammi has died. She was 89.
News of Shammi's death was confirmed by designer Sandeep Khosla on his Instagram account. Veteran star Amitabh Bachchan also shared the news on his Twitter handle on Tuesday.
The actress reportedly succumbed to a long battle with illness.
Shammi's career spans over six decades and she starred in several hit TV shows including Dekh Bhai Dekh, Zabaan Sambhal Ke and Shriman Shrimati.
Her popularity soared as Choti Nani in the television series Dekh Bhai Dekh where she played the role of Choti Nani.
