Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan, who’s currently perfecting his dance moves for the inaugural IPL ceremony, will be in Dubai next month to try his hand at something new and noble.
On May 9, Roshan will create a painting as part of a charity auction at the One&Only Royal Mirage. The actor will work with artist Hesham Malek and their painting will go under the hammer as the invites-only evening progresses. The proceeds from the event, conducted by British auctioneers Sotheby’s, will go towards the Rashid Paediatric Therapy Centre in Dubai.
Actor Kabir Bedi, who’s known for his deep baritone, will be the Master of Ceremonies for the evening.
Ahead of the auction, Roshan and Malek will interact with children at Rashid Paediatric Therapy Centre and with local press.
The auction, organised by Dubai-based art consultant, curator and collector Manisha Sugandh and art curator Ayesha Imtiaz in collaboration with the Rashid Paediatric Therapy Centre, will see paintings that “celebrate the spirit of life”.
“Every life has a spirit and every spirit has colour within,” said Malek in a statement, about his inspiration for his latest works.
Roshan, who has acted in blockbusters including Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, is now working on the period film Mohenjo Daro.
