Who better than Diana Hayden, the former Miss World who froze her eggs at 34 and gave birth to a daughter at 42, to launch a local fertility clinic?

On May 29, the mother to the four-month-old daughter Arya Hayden, will be in Dubai launch the Aster IVF & Women Clinic in Mankhool. She will make an appearance at 11am.

Hayden was in the news earlier this year for adopting an unconventional method to have a baby. She felt that her decision was an “insurance cover” and made her feel liberated since she didn’t have to get married just to have a child.

“I know how I felt when I froze my eggs. I just felt so free. Because I felt time is on my side. I can make my choices, make the right decisions and lead my life. Today, you have a choice. All you’re doing is saving your chance for ‘what if ... So, you give yourself that option, where there’s no pressure. You hear that tick-tick behind you because you feel it,” said Hayden, who married Collin Dick in 2013.

Under the guidance of medical experts, 16 of Hayden’s eggs were frozen between October 2007 and March 2008.

“I froze my eggs for two reasons: I was busy with my career at that time and, more important, I was very clear that I was going to wait to fall in love and marry before having a baby,” said Hayden to an Indian news daily.
