Dubai-based Bollywood actress Celina Jaitly gave birth to her second set of twin boys on September 10th, but only one of them made it.
The actress shared the “bittersweet” news on her page and posted a heartwarming message last night.
“The Gods above have blessed us yet again with another set of very handsome twin boys ‘Arthur Jaitly Haag’ and ‘Shamsher Jaitly Haag’ in Dubai on 10th September 2017. However, life is not always how we plan it to be. Our son ‘Shamsher Jaitly Haag’ succumbed to a serious heart condition and could not continue his journey in this world,” said Jaitly on her fan page.
The goodwill ambassador with the United Nations Human Rights Commission thanked her fans for their love and support.
“Heartbreaking as that is we are very fortunate that a part of him still lives with us through Arthur, whose face will always remind us that an angel who looks exactly like him looks upon us from the arms of his grandfather, my father, in the heavens above, whom we also lost two months ago,” she added.
Her first set of twin boys are now five years old.
During an interview with Gulf News tabloid! during her second trimester in June, Jaitly was bracing herself for the new chapter in her life along with her Austrian husband, Peter Haag.
“For the first weeks we had no idea that we were carrying twins again. At first, they weren’t visible on our first ultrasound… but it came as a pleasant surprise to us. We were shocked at first, but we felt truly exhilarated, once we overcame the shock,” said Jaitly, who is also working on a book about childcare and pregnancy.
It wasn’t an easy pregnancy for Jaitly. The twin genes run in both Haag and Jaitly’s families.
“Oh my god, my first trimester was very challenging. I had to be taken to the emergency for dehydration because I was suffering from severe nausea. But once I hit the end of first trimester, the nausea magically vanished. It’s like magic. So hang in there. I promise it will get better with time. Now, I am back to being my energetic self,” Jaitly was quoted as saying.

The last two months have been a tumultuous journey for us from loosing my beloved father and now baby Shamsher, however there is always a light at the end of a tunnel, and that light for us is our handsome son ‘Arthur Jaitly Haag’ who seeks your blessings and love in his journey that he commences in this world.
