Bollywood actress Bipasha Basu has tied the knot with Karan Singh Grover in a private ceremony that was a mix of Punjabi and Bengali rituals in Mumbai.
Basu, 37, wore a red bridal outfit by Sabyasachi, which she teamed with a traditional Bengali tiara and red and white dots adorning her forehead.
Grover, 34, who co-starred with Basu in Alone, made a quirky entry at the wedding venue — he rode in on a segway wearing a white sherwani.
He accesorised with a carved polki and jadau brooch strung with pearls and blue sapphires from the house of Jaipur Jewels, a renowned jewellery brand, Basu’s former boyfriend Dino Morea and model Candice Pinto were among the guests at the ceremony.
The entrance of the venue was decorated with flowers, with pictures of Basu and Grover’s pre-wedding events posted on the walls.
A mehendi and sangeet ceremony (both part of a Hindu wedding ritual) was held on April 29 at Villa 69, which was attended by family and close friends such as Shilpa and Shamita Shetty and Anusha Dandekar.
A traditional Bengali ritual was also held at Basu’s home on April 28.
The couple’s wedding reception at the St Regis hotel in south Mumbai saw the who’s who of Bollywood including A-listers like Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan.
Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor, Preity Zinta, Malaika Arora, Genelia and Riteish Deshmukh, Sanjay Dutt and Ranbir Kapoor also attended.
This is Basu’s first marriage, while Grover has is tying the knot for the third time. He was previously married to TV actresses Shraddha Nigam and Jennifer Winget.
