Superstar Salman Khan’s on-screen journey from India to Pakistan in Bajrangi Bhaijaan has hit the jackpot at the box office since its release on July 17. The film raked in Rs. 200.5 million (Dh11.4 million) on Saturday.

“The Kabir Khan directorial, which collected Rs. 197.77 crore [Rs1977.7 million] till Friday, minted Rs. 20.05 crore [Rs200.5 million] [in India], taking the cumulative total to Rs. 217.82 crore [Rs2178.2 million],” the film’s spokesperson said in a statement.

The movie narrates the heart-warming tale of an Indian man (Khan) and a deaf girl from Pakistan (Harshaali Malhotra) and the bond they develop during a road trip to Pakistan.

Trade guru Taran Adarsh lauded the success of the film, which also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Kareena Kapoor Khan, on Twitter.

“#BajrangiBhaijaan continues to take giant strides. Witnesses massive jump on Saturday. Week 2: Friday 13.15 cr, Saturday 20.05 cr. Total: Rs. 217.82 cr,” he tweeted.

Another trade analyst Komal Nahta tweeted: “Bajrangi crosses 200 crore in 9 days! Fantabulous!”
