The two-day Eid musical concert, MTV Undivided, led by Shafqat Amanat Ali and Kailash Kher has added more musicians to its fold. Pakistani folk singer Arif Lohar and Indian singer Angarag Mahanta, known as Papon, will join the two-day musical event, orchestrated to unite Indian and Pakistan, in July at the World Trade Centre.

The concerts will take place on July 8 and 9, starting 9pm.

Lohar is a Punjabi folk singer from Pakistan and his folk music is representative of the traditional folk heritage of the Punjab. He is popularly known for his song Jugni, which was then later featured in the Bollywood movie Cocktail

Papon is an Indian singer, composer and record producer from Assam. He is the lead singer and founder of the folk-fusion band called Papon and The East India Company. His soundtracks can be heard in films such as Dum Maaro Dum, I Am Kalam, Soundtrack, Patang and Barfi!.

“MTV India Undivided has been conceptualised to promote and celebrate Indo-Pak unity. We are hoping to make a mark by uniting the two countries through music. Some of the best Pakistani and Indian artists will be seen performing together for peace and harmony,” said Sachin Gokhale, the vice-president and business head of IndiaCast Mena.
