Fashion designer Anita Dongre will style couples who are getting married and a few of their best friends for wedding-related events covered in the forthcoming show Yarri Dostii Shaadi. Known for her bespoke traditional creations, she says designing for weddings is a dream come true.
“Shooting for Yarri Dostii Shaadi has been a very special experience for me. Designing an ensemble for someone’s special day to make it perfect has always been a dream. The experience was a roller coaster of fun, excitement and creativity,” Dongre said in a statement.
“We had a great time shooting so far with some amazing memories to take back. On the show, one of the brides danced in her own baraat [wedding procession]. This is something I’ve never seen before,” she added.
To be aired on NDTV Good Times starting on February 14, the show will be hosted by Aalekh Kapoor and Harleen Sethi. It will showcase the fun aspects of Indian weddings from the groomsmen and bridesmaids’ lens.
They will be the candid eye taking viewers through the three to five days of wedding events that make up a usual big fat Indian wedding.
