Lucknow University (LU) on Friday denied permission to Amitabh Bachchan to visit its campus for promoting his latest movie Aarakshan, which is about reservation.
According to varsity officials, Bachchan and film director Prakash Jha were interested in coming to the campus. The duo was also scheduled to interact with the students on the campus as a part of the promotion activity.
"Taking into account the sensitive and controversial issue on which the movie is based, we have finally decided that the actor or anyone interested in visiting the campus for the promotion of Aarakshan will not be allowed," LU spokesperson S.K. Dwivedi said.
