Bollywood actor-producer Akshay Kumar will put his money on a Marathi feature film titled Adhantari. The project, co-produced by Colors TV channel head Ashvini Yardi and Kumar’s production house Grazing Goat Pictures, will spell the debut for Kajol’s sister Tanisha Mukherjee in Marathi cinema. Her previous credits include films such as Neal ‘N’ Nikki and Sarkar Raj. Accompanying her is actor Sumeet Raghavan and Manse Salvi.
The film revolves around the dilemma a young Maharashtran student faces when he leaves the security and comfort of his homeland to study in the UK on a schorarship and charts his journey of trials and tribulations.
Filming for Adhantari starts in April with a schedule in London and Pune.
Kumar’s latest film, Special Chabbis, will be released in the UAE on Thursday.
