And with everyone from Aquascutum and Elie Saab to Mulberry and Moschino going mellow for yellow, it's no surprise that the red carpets have already been showcasing the standout shade of the season.
A look that's definitely not one for wallflowers, Hollywood's brightest stars have rocked daffodil-toned dresses, marigold minis and saffron-toned suiting in a dazzling top-to-toe display of summery gorgeousness.
Fresh, fun and guaranteed to brighten up the darkest of days, if looking hot is top of your style agenda this season, think Dorothy thoughts, and follow the yellow brick road to your very own sunshine state.
Style notes: How to wear yellow
It's a notoriously difficult shade to wear, but there's a yellow to suit every skin tone. As a rule of thumb, paler skins look stunning in soft sherbet lemon tones, while darker skins can carry off the brightest sunshine shades.
Top-to-toe yellow has major ‘wow' factor, but can be tricky to pull off. Offset an all-yellow outfit with nude or metallic accessories for easy, breezy chic.
Natural make-up works brilliantly with a yellow outfit, but nothing beats a brightly painted pout. Think scarlet or vibrant fuchsia over orangey hues for instant impact.
