Catch a sneak preview of fashion label C'est Moi! before its glitzy launch at Dubai Fashion Week

Dubai-based fashion company M and R Designs will officially launch its inaugural collection from its label C'est Moi! at Dubai Fashion Week on March 21.

The collection was created exclusively for the Middle East by designers Rashmi Kumari and Veronica Potocko in collaboration with Muskan Taurani, founding partner of M and R Designs.

At a special preview of the collection at the La Maison D' hotes recently, Taurani said: "We named the label C'est Moi!, which means 'It's me' because the garments will make every woman feel that they are designed just for her.

"We have given a lot of thought to the cuts, silhouettes and prints so that regardless of her size and body type, the garments will fit every woman as though they were designed with her in mind.

Exclusivity
"We have created original prints and will make only two outfits in every style to ensure exclusivity to our customers,"added Taurani who specialises in fashion merchandising and marketing.

Kumari has worked with labels such as Armani, Alice Temperley, Matthew Williamson, Anna Sui and Etro in New York, while London-based Potocko has worked with several major European couture houses.

Their collection for C'est Moi! is inspired by Venice. It combines elements from Byzantine, Greek, Persian and other influences on the city and captures its splendour and maritime history through lively carnival inspired prints, embroidered lace panels, zardozi stitching, nacre and pearl embellishments, and antique floral ornaments.

Flattering
The silhouettes range from comfortable kaftans and long flowing dresses to flattering princess cuts and slinky cocktail dresses in silk chiffon, crepe, satin and georgette.

And the colour palette includes ocean blue, rosewater, mauves, chiaroscuro silvers, tinted whites and mouthwatering shades of honey, saffron, grape and aubergine with a dusting of gold.

"In the past Venice was a dynamic melting pot of cultures just as Dubai is today. We have tried to capture that energy and spirit in our collection and to create exclusive garments that cater to fashion conscious women of all nationalities,"said Kumari.
