covet!

Coach Rhyder

If you want to see the impact of Stuart Vevers’ appointment to the US leathergoods brand, take a look at this bag, a key piece for the season mixing New York-style workwear with Midwestern utilitarianism. There’s lots of hardware, but engineered for lightness, and you can have it with sherling for a casual wintry feel, light blue or bold red, among others. The bag comes in several shapes and sizes, too. It’s from Dh2,000, at Coach, The Dubai Mall.

Karl Lagerfeld arrives at Galeries Lafayette

The French department store is the first place in the UAE to stock the own-name brand from the venerable fashion designer. Lagerfeld gets his own corner (should that be Korner) on the ground floor of the store in The Dubai Mall, stocking the accessories collection (bags, watches, jewellery and eyewear). There should be no surprise that it’s all in black and white. (Don’t forget you can also pick up Lagerfeld-designed items at Chanel and Fendi stores — the workaholic 81-year-old is also creative director for those brands.)

Michael Kors Selma pop-up shop

Dubai is getting something very special from the American designer: A store dedicated to his super-hot Selma bag. Opening at the Fashion Catwalk Atrium in The Dubai Mall on November 25, we also hear a top collaborator from the brand will be here to celebrate. Dubai-ites will be the first to buy a bag in Kors’ newest shade, the pale pink blossom, months before other stores around the world. If you’re looking for Christmas goodies, there will be handbags, small leather goods, watches and jewellery from the holiday collection.

swim!

Beach Bunny

If you’re looking for a swimsuit, how about turning to a swimsuit model for ideas? Having modelled hundreds of bathing suits in her time, Angela Chittenden decided to launch her own range, Beach Bunny in Orange County in 2004. Now the first outlet in the Middle East has opened at Galleria Mall on Al Wasl Road in Dubai. The theme is glamorous boudoir, with bikinis, cover-ups, ready-to-wear and accessories with lingerie-inspired details. “Some people said I was crazy, that my designs were too risky, too out-there to catch on. I guess they were wrong,” says Chittenden. The likes of Iryna Shayk, Nina Adgal, Kate Upton, Rosie Huntington-Whitely and Joanna Krupa have modelled the range; this is one for the wannabe Sofia Vergaras. Call 04-3434567.
