Swarovski presented its glittering grand finale on the last day of the Dubai Bride Show on Saturday. The collection included funky modern accessories including jewelled belts and green spangly earrings, as well as traditional items, pearl tiaras and grand chunky necklaces.

Exhibitors have their say

Exhibitors from around the world participated in The Bride Show Dubai 2008. While some were looking for new customers and markets, others used the event as a platform to introduce new concepts. Here is what some of the exhibitors had to say:

Queenie Dhody, jewellery designer and well-known socialite from India:
"This is my fifth year at this event. I like to be here because I have now developed many loyal clients in the UAE and they always come back every year to check out my new
collections."

Amishi Dhanuka, bag designer from the UK:
"I was here last year and am back because this is a good market. The women here, especially the Arab women are aware of latest trends and understand exclusivity and quality. I have been organising a bride show in India for many years, but I am impressed by the scale of this event and the massive spending power in this region.''

Rajesh Sajnani, managing director, Si Fashion Gallerie:
"This is the best venue to create awareness about Si Fashion Gallerie, which will open in June in a villa in Jumeirah. Our concept is to provide a complete fashion destination for fashion lovers of all nationalities. We have collaborations with top designers from India, France, Lebanon and other countries and they will design exclusive collections of garments and accessories for us. Haute couture designer Walid Atallah will design a prêt collection exclusively for us and every dress in the boutique will be one of a kind, yet reasonably priced. We also plan to have a wedding gown rental service and a wedding studio with collaborations with top designers around the world."
