If there’s one single celebrity fitness movement that has stuck by the ages, then yoga probably grabs the top spot. Be it self-proclaimed wellness guru Gwyneth Paltrow’s love for all things Ashtanga or Bollywood style queen Kareena Kapoor Khan’s ability to sweat the small stuff with hot yoga, these celebrities are just two of many who enthusiastically roll out the mat to get their fitness A-game on. Kendall Jenner

A paparazzi favourite, Jenner is often snapped outside Hollywood yoga studios, along with fellow model and celeb offspring, Hilaria Baldwin (niece to Alec Baldwin), as they shake a leg at hip hop yoga. Although, Jenner really got the social media community buzzing when she struck a tree pose, perched at the very edge of a rock.

 

Gisele Bundchen

Scroll through her Instagram account and Bundchen’s envious life is complete with gravity-defying yoga poses at various landmarks around the world, with her daughter Vivian as her “favourite acro yoga partner.” The Brazilian model used to practice Anusara yoga three times a week during all three of her pregnancies.

 

Gwyneth Paltrow

The poster child of all things wellness, Paltrow has been a practicing yogini for nearly two decades, swearing on the mantle of Ashtanga yoga. The Iron Man actress said Ashtanga, NY: A Yoga Documentary: “Physically, [yoga] completely changed me. I found strength. And mentally, it’s taught me just patience and letting go.”

 

Cara Delevingne

The Valerian actress and model is a vocal advocate of yoga, confessing that it saved her life when she was battling depression. In an interview with Esquire, Delevingne said: “For me, yoga’s the only way I can really feel things and check how I am. Because there is always pain somewhere… it’s always good to find it and get it out.”

 

Matthew McConaughey

Hollywood’s resident beach bum, The Dark Tower actor is often found shirtless, sprawled on the sand as he soaks up the sun while getting his yoga on. Not one to stay indoors to work out, McConaughey often cites healthy eating and yoga as the secret to his fitness regime.

 

Shilpa Shetty Kundra

With a fitness YouTube channel to her credit, countless videos to boot, suffice it to say that Shetty Kundra is extremely vocal about her love for yoga. In an interview with Gulf News, the actress-entrepreneur said: “I am a great believer in the power of yoga. To me it is more of a spiritual practice…. I practise it for an hour every morning.”

 

Kareena Kapoor Khan

The woman who started the ‘size zero’ fad in Bollywood with her hot yoga routine, Kapoor Khan continues to be a vocal advocate for yoga after recently giving birth to her first child. She and her friend Amrita Arora are often spotted outside a yoga studio.

 

Jennifer Aniston

Training with celebrity yoga guru Mandy Ingber for more than a decade, Aniston continues to be the envy of her peers, even as she approaches 50 years. According to Inger, she works with Aniston three times a week, with a 45-minute yoga routine that includes sun salutations, warrior and other standing poses. Ingber says Aniston loves the tree pose.

 

Kaley Cuoco

She credits her washboard abs to CorePower Yoga, a programme by Amy Opielowski. The Big Bang Theory actress does yoga five times a week and credits her toned, muscle look “100 per cent to yoga”, she said in an interview with Shape magazine. In fact, the actress said in interviews that yoga also helped her overcome her grief after divorcing husband, tennis player Ryan Sweeting.

 

Malaika Arora Khan

The fitness junkie, who is often found with sister Arora and Kapoor Khan at the yoga studio (when not partying the night away), loves to swing into action with aerial yoga. The actress and TV host also recently teamed up with Reebok’s ‘Fashionably Fit’ family. In an interview with IANS, she picked her top gear to wear for the International Yoga day that on June 21, which includes playing it safe with black, while you can also style-up with graphics and stripes.
