Television actor Dustin Diamond is scheduled to be sentenced on two misdemeanour charges stemming from a barroom stabbing in Wisconsin.

The 38 year old known for his role as Screech on Saved by the Bell is set to face a Wisconsin judge Thursday on charges of carrying a concealed weapon and disorderly conduct.

The first misdemeanour carries a maximum sentence of nine months in prison. The second carries a maximum of 90 days in prison.

Diamond told jurors at his trial last month that he accidentally stabbed a man in a Christmas Day scuffle at a bar in Port Washington. He said he tried to scare away other bar patrons with his pocketknife after his girlfriend was punched in the face.

Port Washington is 40km north of Milwaukee.
