Takeshi’s Castle, a global television series that follows 100 members of the public who must overcome obstacles with the objective of storming the castle, is coming to Comedy Central on OSN in Arabic next month.

Takeshi’s Castle: Al Husn will be hosted by Egyptian comedian Hisham Al Shazly, who provides commentary and play-by-play reporting. The series follows the same format as the original TBS series, which began airing in Japan in the 1980s.

The show, filmed specifically for Comedy Central, was shot in Thailand with all new contestants. Al Shazly called the experience a ‘huge technical challenge’ and ‘one of the funniest things’ he’s done.

“Famous comedians like Jonathan Ross in the UK are doing the voiceover of this show, so I am very excited to accept and follow in his footsteps to create a link and relevance for Middle Eastern audiences,” he said.

The show will premiere in April on OSN on channel 207 (Comedy Central HD). A specific date has not yet been announced.
