The Voice Kids will be in safe hands this year with a seasoned celebrity panel: Tamer Hosny (Egypt), Nancy Ajram (Lebanon) and Kathem Al Saher (Iraq).

The show, in its first Arabic season, will see children between the ages of seven-14 auditioning for a shot at growth and superstardom.

But reality shows can be tough on contestants without a thick skin, so Al Saher made it clear that the judging panel was keeping the younger age range in mind.

“Working with children will be different, they are more sensitive, it’s possible for any unintended word to hurt their feelings or break their spirit, or for a thoughtless or hurtful remark to stay with them for a long time,” he said.

As for Ajram, who has had previous experience on Arab Idol, the responsibility of working on The Voice Kids is “double” that of any other talent show out there.

“You can not accurately control the voice of the child, as they’re not yet mature and their voice has not taken its final form,” she said. “So we must keep in mind that we are not dealing with professionals, but with talented children, on the road to professionalism.”

The show is set to air later this year, though an exact date has not been released.
