Adel Karam: Live from Beirut, Netflix’s first comedy special out of the Middle East, will launch worldwide on March 1, the streaming service announced on Monday.

During the special, Karam, a 45-year-old Lebanese comedian and actor, goes back to his hometown of Beirut to make his first appearance at Casino du Liban. He takes on all subjects in his witty and sarcastic style. Some topics include Lebanese people’s love of kissing each other, their passion for food, hospital classifications and marriage advice.

Audiences might recognise Karam from the Oscar-nominated film The Insult, which releases in UAE cinemas on February 22. It is currently in the running for Best Foreign Film. (The Oscars air on March 4.)

Karam joins several global comedians, such as Gad Elmaleh and Jack Whitehall, who have Netflix stand-up specials.
