While a star wife boycott, reportedly led by Gauri Khan, looked set to ruin her career last month, insiders tell us that Teri Meri Kahaani star, Priyanka Chopra, has worked hard to patch things up between her and SRK. But there’s a new war looming with Bebo, and it’s threatening her B-Town status.
Made up with the Khan clique
When rumours were circulating that SRK and Priyanka Chopra were romantically involved while shooting last year’s Farhan Akhtar film Don 2, the star – who has just finished shooting Barfi with Ranbir Kapoor – found herself boycotted by Bollywood’s star wives, and, in turn, their husbands.
Insiders spilled that Gauri Khan and Suzanne Roshan were insecure about their husbands spending time with the 29-year-old beauty, and so made sure she wasn’t invited to any A-list bashes, including the success party for Pri’s own film with Hrithik, Agneepath. “Hrithik is a family guy,” a Bollywood insider revealed. “And so he prefers to steer clear from any controversy with regards to both his personal and professional life.”
But B-Town ‘mediators’ went on a patch-up spree between the wives and Priyanka, and it seems to have worked, with the star seen “happily chatting” with Gauri at Karan Johar’s 40th birthday party in June, and visiting Hrithik on his Mumbai movie set last week.
“The two seemed quite pally and there wasn’t any awkwardness,” said an industry insider of the Agneepath stars. And now that SRK’s back from shooting an untitled Yash Chopra project overseas, a source close to his family revealed that “the Khans will host parties, Priyanka will certainly be invited, and Gauri will have pictures taken with her. There was some trouble, but all is well now.
