A sequel to the film Gone Girl might actually happen, according to actor Tyler Perry.

In an interview with entertainment site Cinema Blend, Perry responded to existing Gone Girl 2 rumours by expressing his own interest in the continuation of Nick (Ben Affleck) and Amy Dunne’s (Rosamund Pike) bizarre story, reports aceshowbiz.com.

“I haven’t heard those rumours. But that would be really exciting, because I feel like there’s more to that story,” said the actor, who starred as Nick’s attorney Tanner Bolt in the first movie.

“And Gillian, she’s brilliant, and would write something awesome,” he added.

Pike was the one who started the sequel rumours shortly after the original was released in 2014.

When asked if she would return for a sequel, the actress insisted: “No, no, no.”

However, she later added, “Only if Gillian [Flynn] wrote it. I don’t like the idea of someone coming in and saying I could get my hand on these characters.”

In early 2015, Flynn added fuel to the rumours.

“There could be a sequel at some point if everyone is game to get the gang back together, it could be really fun a few years from now,” the author told NY Daily News at the BAFTA LA Annual Awards Season Tea Party.

He said: “We could pick it up and see what those crazy Dunnes are up to a few years down the road and if they got on — not well, I don’t think.”
