Abu Dhabi production company twofour54 announced that its post-production fund, Sanad, has struck up a partnership with Final Cut in Venice, a workshop at the 72nd Venice Film Festival.
Over two days, the working copies of selected films are shown to producers, buyers, distributors and film festival programmers. Winning films will be awarded prizes that support their post-production. The winner of Best Arab Film will walk away with €10,000 (Dh40,548), a sum put forward by Sanad.
Venice Film Festival kicks off on September 2. Sanad-funded film Madame Courage by Merzak Allouache was selected for the 2015 Orizonti Competition.
Ali Al Jabri, director of Sanad, said the partnership will provide Arab filmmakers “another level of support and exposure internationally.”
