Follow Me is the latest film to screen as part of Diff365, a year-round initiative to boost independent cinema in the UAE.
The documentary, created by locally based director Asri Bendacha, will show at Vox Cinemas in Mall of the Emirates from November 30 until December 6.
Bendacha, broke and unemployed, follows his fascination into the commercial side of social media. Hundreds of millions of people have Instagram accounts, but only a few can make a living from it, raking in thousands of dollars from a single post.
Bendacha decides to try his hand at the influencer game, meeting DJ Khaled and regional celebrities along the way.
