PAUL BLART: MALL COP 2
Blart rides again. Yep — this is a real movie with real actors. After training for the last six years, everyone’s favourite roly-poly, Segway-riding mall security guard is ready to take it to the next level. Paul Blart (Kevin James) is off to Sin City to try his hand at casino security. When a group of baddies try to take down a Las Vegas casino they find that Blart’s stomach and his band of misfit mall cops are the only thing standing in their way. So lower your expectations a little, and this senseless sequel’s Segway gags, falls and fat jokes will keep you laughing the whole 90 minutes.
BIG GAME
When Air Force One goes down over the rugged Finland countryside, the US President (Samuel L. Jackson) must team up with a teenager (newcomer Onni Tommila) to outwit a group of kidnappers looking to get rich off ransom. This flick is part Cliffhanger, part Escape From New York with a dash of Home Alone. Parents, taking your kids to this one will prep them to become action flick fans.
KILL ME THREE TIMES
It’s been a while since we’ve seen Simon Pegg on our screens but he’s back leading the way in this new black comedy from Australia. Pegg plays Charlie, an assassin who is hired to kill a woman… but turns out he’s not the only person who’s been hired to kill Alice (played by Brazilian actress Alice Braga). Co-starring Luke Hemsworth (yes — Liam and Chris’ brother!) in his big screen debut (Ramsey Street was obviously getting a little too cosy for him) as the wanted woman’s secret boyfriend, Kill Me Three Times has received mixed reviews. Watch it if only just to see Pegg’s handlebar moustache!
LAST KNIGHTS
With Morgan Freeman and Clive Owen, can much go wrong? We think not. The legendary charm of Freeman and wit and looks of Owen make for a perfect date night movie as the ladies will be charmed and the men will be engaged by the story. Raiden (Owen) plays a fallen warrior who wants his revenge against his corrupted and shamed master (Freeman). Get away from the real world and head to a land of snow and castles and expect a lot of sword fights in this tale of history vs payback.
