Furious 7

The latest instalment of the Fast and the Furious franchise is taking crazy to a whole new level. This sequel is loaded with high-octane action and even more star power than number six. The line-up for this chapter includes Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Kurt Russell and that’s just scratching the surface. Jason Stratham also joins the cast as a Special Forces assassin hell bent on revenge against Diesel and his crew. You’ll also have fun spotting familiar Abu Dhabi scenery as they rip through the streets of the capital. Adrenaline junkies will be pleased as this one’s got car chases, shootouts, fights, explosions and punching.

Paper Planes

This is the story of Dylan (Ed Oxenbould — Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day) an Australian boy trying to connect with his single father, get the girl and win the World Paper Plane Championship. It hits theatres just in time for some uplifting family fun this spring break. And yes, the World Paper Plane Championship is a thing.

Demonic

Like screams? Like freaking yourself out? Then go and see Demonic right now. Still riding high in the box office and we can see why, directed by James Wan — the guy that gave us The Conjuring, Insidious and Saw — it’s pretty freaky. Would you have a seance in an abandoned house in the middle of the night? Well that’s what six people did… only one survives. This film tells us what happened to those five people and what’s going to happen to the one remaining.

Still showing: Ex Machina

Futuristic films are so 2015 and this new British movie really pushes the boundaries and potentially gives us an insight into our futures. Caleb (Domonic Gleeson) wins a trip to stay with crazy scientist Nathan’s (Oscar Isaac) place in the middle of nowhere to learn more about science… what he learns is far from anything he expected. Nathan has created a cyborg called Ava who is so human like that Caleb starts to form a bond closer to her than any of them expected. This film has been promoting itself in a unique way, through a well known dating app. It’s got the word ‘unique’ written all over it.
