We’ve driven the current Renault Koleos, and apart from the fact that it’s a spacious four-wheel drive, there isn’t anything else that’s worthwhile to say about it. However all that’s going to change, hopefully.

Renault has revealed the new, sharper looking Koleos, which boasts a restyled front end featuring slimmer headlights, sideview mirrors with integrated LEDs, and beefier wheel arches.

The cabin gets a refresh as well with new upholstery and trims as well as optional gizmos such as a Tom Tom sat-nav and a Bose sound system.

The new Koleos will be powered by two versions of the M9R diesel unit making 150 and 175bhp and a 2.5-litre petrol engine producing 170bhp.

The crossover’s Nissan-developed all-wheel drive system will be complemented by features such as Hill Start Assist and Hill Descent Control, making it a proper off-roader. The petrol-engined version is expected to be in showrooms here this November.
