Here's a look at Top Gear star presenter Jeremy Clarkson's personal garage since 1993
He might not be as good at dodging controversy as he is in dodging road hazards, but Jeremy Clarkson sure loves his cars.
The Top Gear star presenter—currently under suspension over an alleged spat with a BBC executive—has taken thousands of cars on a test drive, but which cars did he consider good enough to get some space in his garage?
Here's a look at Clarkson's personal garage since 1993.
Jaguar XJR
Years owned: 1993 to 1998
Engine: 4.0 litre
Transmission: 4-speed automatic
“Most of the time I adore the Jaguar XJS, but the last time I drove one it was raining, I had a headache and a cricked neck and I was trying to reverse it down a mews at night. And I absolutely hated the [expletive] thing,” Clarkson told media.
Toyota Land cruiser Amazon
Years owned: 1999 to 2004
Engine: 4.2 litre
Transmission: 5 speed, manual
“It cost £22,000 (Dh120,478.92) and, no, I didn't spend extra on a warranty. As it was designed to go from Adelaide to Darwin, it should be able to manage the school run without exploding in a maelstrom of cogs and wire,” Clarkson said.
Ford GT
Years owned: 2005 to 2010
Engine: 5.4 litre
Transmission: 6-speed, manual
“Leaving the Top Gear studio one day, the immobiliser refused to un-immobilise itself. So instead, I went home in a rented Toyota Corolla...sorry Ford I have to ask for my money back,” he said.
