Underneath this hideous camouflage sits the brand new Maserati Quattroporte, scheduled to make an appearance next year.
Rumoured to sit on the company’s new lightweight platform, the 2013 Quattroporte is likely to have a Ferrari-developed twin-turbo V8 and a smaller supercharged V6.
The saloon is likely to also offer Ferrari’s fantastically complex four-wheel drive system from the FF as an option.
The interior will get a complete makeover, with the wilfully obtuse controls of the current car giving way to a large touchscreen control for most functions.
And don’t be worried about the lumpy Panamera-esque rear end that you see here, because the actual car will most probably sport a sloping coupé-like roof.
2013 can’t come soon enough.
