Dubai: It's Day 2 of the #Dubai30x30 fest, participants were introduced to some fun, fat-burning exercises.

At Dubai's Safa Park, the venue of the Dubai Fitness Challenge for the first two days, sessions on super-fast fat-loss exercises, body combat, kid fitness exercises from Gold's Gym, cheerleading show, Zumba fusion, Football Freestylers and more — were held.

Shaikha Al Qassimi, an Emirati CrossFit and Red Bull athlete, has also joined the campaign and shared about how she maintains her incredible fitness and competitiveness.

Gulf News also took on the Dubai Fitness Challenge, from Day One. The new organisation joined a number of media girms in Dubai who signed up for the #Dubai30x30 fest, a city-wide movement to exercise for 30 minutes for 30 days from October 20, 2017.

Dwynn Trazo, a senior infographic artist at Gulf News and a fitness buff, has spearheaded the team from region's largest English-language publication for the challenge.

Also on board for the 30-day fitness fest include Bloomberg, Agence France Presse, Al Bayan Arabic daily, MBC, Virgin Radio, The Dubai Media Office, Emarat Al Youm, the Dubai Post, among others.

After the month-long challenge, it is hoped that residents would be healhier — and happier.

Organisers said some 12,000 people turned up for the first day of the 30-day challenge at Safa Park on Friday armed with yoga mats, water bottles, towels, and loads of determination.

The campaign, launched on October 2 by Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of the Executive Council, is aimed to make exercise a lifestyle, improve stamina, lose weight.
