Gordon Ramsay is cooking for Dubai once more. 
The British chef and restaurateur will open his Bread Street Kitchen restaurant concept at Atlantis The Palm this autumn, the hotel announced on Monday. 

Ramsay’s association with Dubai’s restaurant scene goes back a long way — he was one of the first international celebrity chefs to open a restaurant here, Verre, at the Hilton Dubai Creek, in 2001. It was his first restaurant outside the UK, and the beginning of a massive expansion for his brand of modern European cooking. 

He ended his association with Verre after ten years. Now, he’s back with Bread Street Kitchen, the fourth outlet for his restaurant concept, which serves a British European menu. Other locations are London, Hong Kong and Singapore. 

“I am incredibly excited to open Bread Street Kitchen in Atlantis, The Palm,” Ramsay said in a statement. “The expertise of the team at Atlantis make them ideal partners and I’ll be working closely with them to deliver a dining experience of the highest standards and one that reflects the ethos of its sister restaurant in St Paul’s London”. 

The space will be open daily, all day, with a bar being central to the concept, Atlantis said in a statement. 

There may be more to come from Ramsay, if we read between the lines of the hotel’s statement. 
“Bread Street Kitchen will be a fantastic new addition, offering a casual, European dining experience to complement our roster of existing outlets. Working with the Gordon Ramsay Group to bring his restaurant to Dubai is only the beginning of an incredible partnership,” the hotel’s rep said. 

Bread Street Kitchen will be competing not only with Atlantis’ other top chef offerings — Nobu, Giorgio Locatelli — but also a completely different restaurant scene than the one Ramsay left. 

One of the most anticipated openings this autumn is Marina Social by Jason Atherton — now an internationally renowned chef who happens to have been Ramsay’s second-in-command at Verre all those years ago. They are not on the best of terms — so this autumn is shaping up to be something of a battle in the kitchens of Dubai. Which chef gets your vote?
